Gate 17
The model knows only open or closed. Twenty years of unofficial repairs have made something neither answer describes. Maya, Amina and an operator must act on what the water is actually doing.

Original record and sources
Shot 016 shows the earlier flood-control barrier, not an approved depiction of the adapted Gate 17. It is presented here only as a related visual study.
The model understands open or closed. Reality has invented a third state.
The treatment sends a municipal probe to the city’s critical hydraulic junction. It finds that the original gate no longer exists as the official model describes it.
Years of adaptation have formed a hybrid of seawall, reef and pressure relief. Maya, Amina and a municipal operator must choose a bounded reopening: five percent, then observe.
The related v50 pressure-relief junction is an authored production depiction of this setting. It remains separate from the earlier modeled east-canal barrier.
